NEed help picking a new hairstyle!?

I have an appointment for tomorrow evening to get my hair cut, and I need help!!

I have THICK, dark hair, about 3" past my shoulders. If I dont brush it out or flat iron it, its pretty wavy.

I have side swept bangs.

My face is sort of a square shape. Olive skin tone. Everyone says I look SO much like Reese Witherspoon, so maybe that will help...

I can't find a picture online of a nice hairstyle to give to my stylist- I need something easy and quick to style, long enough to pull into a ponytail...

If you have any celebrity looks you think I should try out, please send me the link- thanks a TON!

NEed help picking a new hairstyle!?

from what you've said, i think any of these could look good and be easy and managable for you. Also, because its summer i'd say maybe go for some highlights.

and you can give one of those or two, and tell your hair dresser what you want like the picture. I think you would look good in about 2 inches past your shoulders...with a few suddle layers-long enough where you can still put your hair in a pony tail

Why do most hairstylists want to cut long hair short?

Ok I have seen those make-over shows and other hairstyling shows and the stylists want to cut a ladies long hair that is short when they lady doesn't want them too, but the stylist does it anyways. Why do they want to do that? I think that longer hair looks more feminine and more flattering on a woman. Why do the stylists say other wise?

Why do most hairstylists want to cut long hair short?

Because they are evil people!

Why do most hairstylists want to cut long hair short?

split ends i guess? its also just a style

Why do most hairstylists want to cut long hair short?

Well, they can't cut it long. The only thing they can do is make it shorter. Stylists wanna change things. They don't want the same thing. When they style, they gotta cut. That's just the way it is.

Why do most hairstylists want to cut long hair short?

hairstylists love love love love cutting hair...you are in control and you have to tell them when to stop because wat they like and what you like is different (usually)

: )

Why do most hairstylists want to cut long hair short?

uh.. it just looks better for that type of style i guess. lol

Why do most hairstylists want to cut long hair short?

most the time shorter hair is better easer to keep up

Why do most hairstylists want to cut long hair short?

The main reason they do it is to "compliment" the shape of the face...

I have a chubby face, and when my hair is long it looks thinner, when my hair is short, it looks fatter.

either way, I love my hair and I wouldn't cut even If I got gum in it!! LOL (been there, done that!)

Why do most hairstylists want to cut long hair short?

good question. too bad i dont know hte answer........

Why do most hairstylists want to cut long hair short?

They want to make u think that they gave you a good makeover by changing the most but they actually didnt

Why do most hairstylists want to cut long hair short?

I call it a sickness LOL

I think they want to do it to prevent split ends, but long hair is nice. I would suggest that you be very firm in your instructions - one inch off means only ONE inch off. If they disobey, complain to the manager and don't give them a tip.

Why do most hairstylists want to cut long hair short?

Keep you coming back to cut ragged ends and restyle the hair. Too make more money.

Why do most hairstylists want to cut long hair short?

because long hair on an older person can make them look older and/or make them look frumpy.

Why do most hairstylists want to cut long hair short?

uhh....not mine.

Why do most hairstylists want to cut long hair short?

I guess it is because they are very experimental people. Hairstylists considers themselves artists for hair, and artists are very adventurous. Also, it could be possible that the hair the ladies wanted wasn't "them", and the stylist knew something better for their head shape.

Why do most hairstylists want to cut long hair short?

They are taught that it's healthier for the hair to be short, they think long hair makes you look older or out-dated, and they are taught that short hair is more flattering to most people.

It's all about what your perception of beauty is. They are taught to think of a particular look as beautiful. You might think a different look is more beautiful. I've worn my hair long for thirty years, and I like it. Stylists come and go, but me and my hair are with me all the time. So I pick what I like, not what they do.

Why do most hairstylists want to cut long hair short?

I guess because it makes you look younger, more edgy and flatters the shape of your face

Why do most hairstylists want to cut long hair short?

most stylists want to cut long hair because it takes twice as long to cut, style and blow dry and curl long hair ...................it takes very little time to do a short hairdo.........................

Why do most hairstylists want to cut long hair short?

One reason is the condition of the hair is typically poor. Another would be because you cannot have an actual "style" when it is too long. A third reason is if you have extra weight or are short the long hair emphasizes this. Plus a makeover is about change. = )

Why do most hairstylists want to cut long hair short?

Okay- if you are talking about television the producers often want something to grab attention. Also many of the woman DO actually look better with a more flattering style. Professionally I do not enjoy cutting off a lot of hair. I want to work with the client so what I do is the best possible thing for them. Many clients have hair that just doesn't work well too long or it is too time consuming for them on a daily basis. I would never cut off a clients hair without them wanting me to and I have changed a few peoples minds about doing it. (Like right after they break up with a boyfriend or something.) I work in such places that doing something like that would get you fired in a red hot second.

Why do most hairstylists want to cut long hair short?

they're bored, have nothing else to do, and it makes them feel like they're doing something productive.

Why do most hairstylists want to cut long hair short?

Sometimes, the stylist isn't paying attention to what a client wants and they cut off too much because they're distracted. The best stylists will ask a client about her lifstyle, amount of time she has to do her hair, look at her bone structure and face shape, and will make a suggestion as to whether or not long hair is flattering on the client.

I have natural auburn hair that is one length and is to the bottom of my shoulder blades. The last time I had it trimmed, the stylist misunderstood what I wanted and cut it all one length (I wanted to keep the layers and the length), which meant that instead of cutting 1/4 - 1/2 inch off, she cut more than an inch, and I have very healthy hair!

My goal is to grow it to the middle of my back and then have it layered so I can try different styles without them looking heavy on me.

I want an emo hairstyle, But I need help! Pictures are inside?

~~~~ im making this again because people are saying I should get choppy layers or get it thined out.~~~~
which one? thined out, choppy layers or both? heres a pic of my hair when its straitened (with a flat iron) about 8 hours after I straitened it.
1.Choppy Layers
2.Thined out
3. Both choppy layers and thined out.
4.How much should I cut in the back in order to spike it.
You're Cute!!!!!
閳?Thee Diamond Princess 閳?br>I want an emo hairstyle, But I need help! Pictures are inside?
ok....first things first, get it thinned out big time, and then add a lot of choppy layers all around and keep a long fringe(bang) and you'll be all set!
I want an emo hairstyle, But I need help! Pictures are inside?
Your a cutie. I think you should get the back thinned out and choppy layers in the front. Then straighten it a little more than what you had in the picture.
I want an emo hairstyle, But I need help! Pictures are inside?
You look like Rico from Hannah Montana! Are you like 10? Anyway, alright, I'll tell you... good choice on being Emo but emo is pretty sad. Do you even know what emo means? Emo is short for emotional. I was joking when I said it was a good choice. You should be Gothic, not emo. Goth is so much better. (laughs freekishly) I'm goth! Well, I would use a hair straightener if I were you. And tell your barber to make it go diagonally across your face.
Can you help me find some PICTURES for my new HAIR CUT?
I have a hair appointment this evening %26amp; I'm frantically trying to find some pictures to take into my stylist. My hair is almost at my waist, straight, and dark brown [although that has nothing to do with it].
Getting a Hair cut today??
okay well i have a great stylist and she is a stylist for all the actors and actresses
and I really want a new style
right now i have long layered hair, with long side swept bangs
is there anything i should do with my hair?
and i dont know about getting it cut like shoulder length because it doesnt look good on me
how much should i cut it and what style should i get?
my hair goes a little past my elbows
Getting a Hair cut today??
Pay attention to your face shape. The new haircuts that I have noticed lately, with a bob ending at the chin, make a lot of people look like they have moon faces...not attractive.
Look through magazines of hair styles to get an idea of what you might like, and then ask your stylist if they will work with your hair texture and thickness. Don't go too short, you can always work your way up to a shorter length over time, but you can't add back hair if you get a shorter haircut that looks like a disaster.
Getting a Hair cut today??
maybe get some choppy layers
Try these styles.
good luckk.
What should I do???
I recently got my hair cut,colored, highlighted,and styled($155).When leaving the shop I was 100% satisfied,I thought she did a wonderful job,but I think I was more excited about the style rather than the color.But when I got home I realized I had an arburn color w/medium golden highlights.But the most disurbing thing was the only noticable color was all on top and an inch from my roots down I had a regular dark brown color with barely any highlights.The stylist took her time and was very kind so I would feel really bad if I have to go back and tell her the problem.My question is,should I go back and tell her,and if she agrees to fix it,will I be charged regular price for recoloring it? Or should I just go somewhere else?
What should I do???
Hi Jo, I would definately go back, you dont have to be nasty, if you feel bad, phone first ask to speak to the stylist who did your hair, tell her politley that you loved the colour when you were in the salon but when you went home you noticed the colour was more noticable on top %26amp; can hardly notice it on the bottom. If she is a nice hairdresser she will glady ask you to come back in so she can fix it, remember word of mouth is the best advertisement for any business %26amp; they want to keep there business %26amp; gain more customers, therefor they must keep the customers satisfied. If she refuses to look, she isnt as nice so whay should you be so nice %26amp; take it further, either go to her manager (but I am sure it wont get to that) but if it does you threaten them with consumer affairs. Remeber nice is the best policy, if your nice to them, they usually respond the same way.
Good luck
What should I do???
go somewhere else
What should I do???
I agree with Ree!!!
